What's Covered...
I offer training in 3 program formats and 2 levels of training. The full course program covers manners, on leash & off leash obedience and lasts about 8 weeks. The basic course program covers manners & on leash obedience and lasts about 4 weeks. The focus in both programs is to build highly reliable responses from your dog the first time you ask even when they are distracted. Problem behaviors are also dealt with using the latest behavior modification methods in both programs.
The following are examples, but not necessarily a complete list, of what will be covered: sit & stay, lie down & stay, to come quickly when called, to walk calmly on a loose leash, housebreaking, marking, jumping up on people, getting on furniture, inappropriate chewing, puppy mouthing & nipping, digging, nuisance barking, stealing food or other items, getting into the trash, running out doors & gates and submissive urinating. In some cases we also have enough time to teach some fun tricks such as finding your lost keys, fetching the newspaper, etc.. In addition, you'll learn important information about the health, exercise, nutrition, grooming and socialization of your particular breed or mix of dog.
Your dog's course will be tailored to cover the things that are most important to you immediately, but will also cover those things you may not have thought about that will have an impact on his future behavior. Program Formats...
Program 1: Ultimate Home-Board Program: I believe this is the best course you'll find available anywhere at any price. Your dog will live with me in my home and be trained inside the house and in public places as well. The focus is to build new habits, not just learn commands, to make returning to your home a simple and pleasurable experience. This program has a higher success rate than any kennel-boarding program. Your dog is taught in a home environment like the one they'll be returning to. Follow-up with you and your family are included as well. The method's used in this course vary from dog to dog depending on the age, problems, nature of the dog and the family the dog will be returning to. Space is limited so reservations may be necessary. Program 2: Personal Training Course: This course is for people who wish to have their dog(s) trained for them at their home instead of sending them away for training. I will come to your home and train your dog(s) 2 or more days per week. You will participate in at least one of those lessons each week. If you have kids that want to be involved in the training of your dog I would recommend this course. Click here for pricing.
Program 3: Private Training: Using a combination of training methods I will teach you how to train your own dog. We meet once every week to two weeks for 4, 6, 8 or 10 lessons. All dogs can benefit from this course. This includes young puppies and dogs that have had no prior training, dogs that have been through some prior training, dogs that are out of control, dogs that understand what is being asked of them but choose not to listen, and dogs with specific problems.
